Data engineer · Barcelona

I build the pipelines behind the numbers people trust, and I am looking for my next team.
In numbers
Nine years, counted loosely
- 9
- years in dataFrom reports in spreadsheets to streaming at scale.
- 140+
- pipelines in productionMost of them still running, quietly.
- 23
- talks givenMeetups, conferences and a few lunch-and-learns.
- 4,800
- cups of coffeeAn honest estimate, rounded down.

Who I am
Nine years of making numbers trustworthy
I started as the first data hire in a small consultancy in Madrid and have spent the years since building the pipelines, warehouses and streaming systems that teams run their days on. I like clear contracts between systems, boring infrastructure that never pages anyone, and documentation the next person can actually use. Outside work I run the Collserola trails and take the tram to the beach with a paperback.

Career
Where I have worked
Three teams and one degree, most recent first.
2022 – today
Senior data engineer
Ruta Logistics, Barcelona
I lead the platform that turns the scans of eleven warehouses into same-day delivery forecasts. I moved our batch jobs to streaming and cut the time from scan to dashboard from four hours to six minutes.
2019 – 2022
Data engineer
Clínica Sant Martí Group, Barcelona
I built the warehouse that brought appointments, billing and lab results from three hospitals into one place. Along the way I wrote the data quality checks the finance team now runs before every monthly close.
2017 – 2019
Analytics engineer
Mercat Verd, Valencia
My first data team, at an online grocer with two hundred thousand customers. I replaced a tangle of spreadsheets with tested models and learned that a good metric definition saves more arguments than any dashboard.
2013 – 2017
BSc in Mathematics
Universitat de València
A degree in pure mathematics with a final project on graph algorithms for public transport routing. It is where I first wrote Python, and first noticed I cared more about the data than the proof.
What I do
The work I am good at
Pipelines that hold up
Batch and streaming pipelines in Python, SQL and Kafka, with retries, alerts and runbooks, so a bad night is a short one.
Warehouses people understand
Models in dbt on BigQuery or Snowflake, named and documented so an analyst can find the right table without asking me.
Data you can trust
Tests, contracts and freshness checks at every step, so a broken number is caught before it reaches a meeting.
Teams that grow
I mentor juniors, review code with care and write things down, because a platform only one person knows is a risk.
Colleagues
What people I worked with say
Ada rebuilt our forecasting pipeline without a single missed delivery window. She explains trade-offs so clearly that the operations team started asking her to every planning meeting.
Jordi PuigHead of operations, Ruta LogisticsBefore Ada, month-end meant three days of reconciling numbers by hand. Her checks brought it down to an afternoon, and she taught two of us to keep them going.
